How Work Virtual Wall Lighthouses?

Depending on the mode selected, a Virtual Wall lighthouse (VWLH) will act as each a lighthouse and a Virtual Wall.
Virtual Wall mode completely blocks off areas you do not wish your robot to access.

Lighthouse mode acts as a gate, mechanically blocking and opening selected areas during Roomba's mission to permit Roomba to efficiently clean multiple rooms. when the Roomba has completed cleaning each space as selected by a VWLH, the VWLH guides Roomba back to its home base.(Note: most cleaning time per room is twenty five minutes.)

For example: Your Roomba and home base are placed within the family room (Room 1). you also would really like your Roomba to clean an adjacent bedroom (Room 2) and workplace (Room 3). You place a lighthouse within the entrance from room one to room two, and an extra lighthouse within the doorway from room one to room three

It will not not as good as iRobot Roomba or Neato robots, but it's something to have a good time while building it. Video description: This is tutorial, how to build your own vacuum cleaner robot! Watch it in action!! Top comments: 1. Jamaal Mahmood: it wouldnt work on carpet 2. TheMC Blender: Sweet put i doubt it works lol no offense 3. Liam Knight: you are a freaking legend Baticqwer, im building one like this except im using a modified 9V cpu fan for the shaker and a 9.6V rechargable battery for the juice, only problem is that im trying to find a way to channel all the debris from the fan to a removable dirt tray. And the fan im using to suck up the dirt, looks like the one your using except the fan causes too much interferance so the dust gets blown away at the sides. Im pretty much halfway through, but i need to find a better base. Another interesting video how to make "cleaner" but not a robot which you can build by your own. Here is list of interesting projects:
